Monoclonal Antibody (MAb) to Rotavirus, VP6

 

A common cause of severe diarrhea among children is Rotavirus.  This stable virus may be transmitted through ingestion of contaminated water, food or by contact with contaminated surfaces(1). 

Rotavirus genome is composed of 11 segments of double-stranded RNA which code for six structural and five nonstructural proteins(1). VP6 is the rotavirus nucleocapsid protein, the major structural protein of inner capsid particles(2).
